Mayor Spiro Cheriogotis

Mayor Spiro Cheriogotis grew up in Dothan, Alabama, where he was surrounded by a supportive family that instilled in him the values of hard work, service, and integrity. He began his career working in his family’s retail food business before pursuing law, serving as both an assistant district attorney and private attorney before taking the bench as a judge. Those experiences laid the foundation for his career in public service and his commitment to improving the lives of others.

Outside of City Hall, Mayor Cheriogotis enjoys spending time outdoors, finding peace in nature through fishing, golfing, and hunting. Above all, he considers his greatest role to be that of husband and father. He and his wife are raising four children, and he says providing them with the same love and support he received growing up is his most important responsibility.
