Like the sea glass that inspires its name, the Sea Glass Initiative is a symbol of transformation—taking what is broken and reshaping it into something beautiful. For those experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity in Baldwin County, Sea Glass offers not just resources, but a path forward.

Founded to serve the local unhoused population, the organization provides individualized case management, helping clients secure everything from emergency shelter and rental deposits to childcare, car repairs, and job readiness support. “We don’t just hand someone a resource list and wish them luck,” a team member shares. “We walk alongside them, from intake to move-in day.”

Each story is personal. Mary, a 74-year-old widow, lost her home after rent increases outpaced her fixed income. She now tries to remain unseen, showering at a local gym and walking parks during the day. Sadly, her story is not unique—60% of Baldwin County’s unhoused have lived here for 10 years or more.
